Three Essential Ways to Protect Yourself After a Truck Accident
After hiring a truck accident lawyer to pursue the compensation you need and deserve, taking these three simple steps can make a significant difference in the outcome of your truck accident case:
Only Discuss the Truck Crash
with Your Injury Lawyer
You can expect that insurance adjustors representing the trucking company and other parties involved in the accident will reach out to you to discuss the case or even offer you a settlement straightaway. It's safe to assume they are hoping you will say something that will allow them to minimize your truck accident claim, or trying to convince you to settle for an amount far below what you deserve. When they contact you, simply tell them to reach out to your truck accident lawyer.
Don't Discuss the Accident
on Social Media
Social media is where many of us vent about the frustrations we encounter in our lives. But the statements you make on social media about your accident can be easily misconstrued or placed in a context that hurts your case. Do not compromise your case by talking about the accident on any social media platform.
Preserve All Evidence
Did you take photos or videos of the accident scene? Make digital copies of all of it. Smartphones are capable of storing immense amounts of information, but they can also be easily lost, stolen, or destroyed. If you don't use a cloud service, preserving digital information is as easy as emailing it to yourself.

"QLG did an excellent job."
Liz Quick is a brilliant trial attorney. I was the plaintiff in my case and I remember sitting in that courtroom thinking “She is incredible!” She operated with such ease and such confidence in what she was doing that I just couldn’t be anything less than in total awe of her. When you are feeling as vulnerable as I felt during during the trial, having someone on your side like Liz meant so much.View on Google
I was very focused on finding highly experienced, knowledgeable, and practical counsel to handle my matter. Matt Quick and the Quick Law Group (QLG) provided all that and more. Everyone I interacted with at QLG was professional, responsive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with, as well. Matt was all of the above. Why Choose Quick Law Group for Your Truck Accident Case?
Unafraid of Trial
Trucking companies and their insurance providers usually make an initial settlement offer to accident victims that is well below what their case is actually worth. Getting these huge corporations to pay what they owe often requires taking a case all the way to trial. While some law firms avoid the courtroom and will take the easy way out with a settlement, our truck accident attorneys thrive in court and take every case as far as it needs to go to achieve justice. In fact, Liz Quick was trained in trial litigation at the exclusive Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, an invite-only program where some of the country's finest trial lawyers have honed their skills.
Expansive Network of Experts
Building a convincing personal injury case after a truck accident often requires expert testimony from medical professionals. Our Bellevue law firm has developed close relationships with several medical experts in the greater Bellevue area. We will call on them to examine your injuries and testify to their severity.
Committed to Our Clients
Larger personal injury law firms will treat your case like a number in their system as it gets passed from assistant to assistant, but not us. Our Bellevue truck accident lawyers offer personalized, hands-on service to every client we represent. You will work closely with our attorneys during your personal injury case, and we will go the extra mile to ensure that you receive full justice for your hardships.
We Fight Insurance Companies
Trucking companies know they are exposed to heavy liability if a motor vehicle accident is caused by one of their vehicles or their drivers. Because of this huge liability, trucking companies work with some of the largest and most aggressive insurance companies in the nation.
After a truck accident on a Washington roadway, trucking companies will have one of their own investigators on the scene within minutes. These investigators are trained to look for evidence that will point blame at the car accident victim and away from the commercial truck.
Because these insurance companies are so skilled at shifting blame, a truck accident attorney must have an in-depth understanding of the common types of truck accidents, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, and the strategies truck companies use to defend themselves against damages. Fortunately, the lawyers at Quick Law Group in Bellevue, WA, are intimately familiar with truck accident law in our state and know how to counter the bad-faith strategies insurance companies often implement.
When you hire our lawyers after a truck accident, they will use every resource at their disposal to hold trucking companies responsible for their negligence and help you recover maximum compensation.

Some of the Most Dangerous
Highways in Washington
I-5 runs the length of the state, from north to south. As the most heavily traveled highway in Washington, there is a higher likelihood cars will encounter large trucks. Problem areas along this highway are often in construction zones, which are usually populated by large vehicles.
State Route 522
This route is about 25 miles long and connects Seattle to the suburbs and other interchanges. Anytime one highway intersects with another, there is an increased risk of an accident. When traffic containing large trucks merges with that of a more heavily traveled roadway, such as I-5, car accidents are more likely.
This major roadway has been the scene of several fatal accidents involving cars and large trucks.
Can I Afford A Truck Accident Lawyer?
Yes. Quick Law Group LLC works on a contingency basis, so you pay absolutely nothing unless we win your case. Your initial consultation and all subsequent counsel and representation is absolutely free, and we will only collect a fee if we are successful in securing a jury award or settlement.
"I called the Quick Law Group on the suggestion of a friend after I couldn't get anywhere with the insurance company of the man that rear-ended me. I was still suffering years after the accident - I wouldn't settle and out of desperation decided to find an attorney. Matt and Liz walked me through everything. Answered all of my questions, and I felt such confidence in them after just the consultation. I would recommend them to anyone needing great representation in your pursuit of a fair bodily injury settlement." Mama Berg, 5-Star Google Review
Types of Truck Accidents
Because of the length and width of tractor trailers, these vehicles require more space to navigate turns. In order for a large truck to make most turns, the driver first has to swing out wide and then cut back. Doing so puts cars in the oncoming lane of traffic at risk. This type of car accident is also referred to as a squeeze play accident, because unless the passenger vehicle is able to squeeze past the semi, the car will be struck.
One of the most common types of truck accidents is jackknifing accidents. When a truck jackknifes, the trailer of the semi swings out from behind the cab as the truck skids along the roadway. In most jackknife accidents, cars that are in the way will be swept aside or carried along with the truck until it comes to a stop.
When a tractor trailer jackknifes and is unable to stop after skidding along the highway, the next possibility is that the truck will roll over and damage any other vehicles in its way. Rollover accidents have a higher rate of fatality than other types of trucking accidents.
Blind Spot Crashes
Blind spots often play a role in truck accidents. When truck drivers are not able to see cars in their blind spot, the driver may attempt a lane change and come into contact with the vehicle. In addition to being impacted by the tractor trailer, the car might be forced off the road or into other vehicles.
